PT. Mercedes Benz Indonesia will not be involved in the automotive exhibition in Indonesia which will be held on 20 to 30 September 2012, organized by the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS).
Mercedes Benz could not give their car sales data for one year ago because this is an obligation to report their sales data to the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (GAIKINDO). As a consequence the Mercedes Benz in danger of being excluded GAIKINDO membership. Yet to take their car show at the exhibition will have to be a member of GAIKINDO.
Mercedes Benz said that they were banned by the central (Germany) to provide production and sales data to other parties. But the purpose of this prohibition is not known why.
